The EPPIE Awards have been given annually since 2000 to recognize outstanding achievement in electronic publishing. The Quasar Award recognizes outstanding achievement in cover art for electronic books.
The categories are judged by members of EPIC, all published authors and publishing professionals. After the first round of judging, the works of the finalists are sent to another panel of judges and the winners are selected: The winners will be announced at EPICon 2009, March 7, 2008, at the Gala Awards Banquet.

The EPPIE is open to members and non-members of EPIC alike, as is the QUASAR/ARIANA award for cover art. There is a discounted entry fee for EPIC members, but the contest is open to any e-published book released during the contest period.

Additionally, EPIC annually gives the Patricia White Service Award to an EPIC member in recognition of outstanding service to the epublishing community and the organization and the Friend of E-publishing Award to a non-EPIC member who has made a major contribution to the epublishing world.
